Meet the team
Our Founders
David and Eva Jessee are the founders of Twisted Root Nutrition. They have combined their love for medicine and natural living into a marketing strategy to target a unique niche. As parents of six children, they know that a solid foundation for health is built at home. It is based on organic, clean nutrition as well as sustained practices. Together, they plant, harvest and process every nutraceutical that they sell.
Eva has over 300 college semester hours dedicated to studying the human body, illness and medicine. She achieved her Bachelor of Science / Registered Nurse degree through East Tennesse State University (ETSU) and is poised to graduate with her Family Nurse Practitioner the fall of 2025. She wears several vocational hats that include adjunct nursing faculty at ETSU, researcher and sexual assault nurse examiner in adults & pediatrics. She serves as the Tennessee President-Elect for the International Association of Forensic Nurses (IAFN) and recently co-created the curriculum for the Postmortem Sexual Assault Nurse Examination for certification that she will teach globally this year. Her passion lies in Functional Medicine and the belief that our bodies were created to heal themselves when treated well. She spends hours each day developing & testing the research that goes into every product they create. This research involves gathering data, product testing and clinical trials. She also serves as a consultant to many clients who do not know where to begin in taking back their health.
David is a licensed Residential & Commercial Home Inspector & certified Master Farmer. He can be found most days in the greenhouse covered up in soil & plants when not inspecting. He loves finding an excuse to ride around in his tractor & work outdoors. He is the method behind the madness and a safe space when life gets hectic.
Together, they are enjoying life with their three teenage daughters. Their three adult children have married and live nearby. As a family, they all work for Twisted Roots Nutrition. They are proud Mimi & Pop Pop to two of the most amazing grandboys & have a new grand bundle coming in September.
Kali & Taylor Holt
Kali Holt is David & Eva Jessee's eldest daughter & right hand. She is married to Taylor Holt & they are proud parents to two fur babies, Philomena & Deacon.
Kali's college education traces back to 2013 when she enrolled into college to become a nurse. She achieved her Bachelor's of Science / Registered Nurse degree and is currently enrolled at East Tennessee State University completing her Family Nurse Practitioner where she also works as adjunct faculty to nursing students. She was a co-creator on a project with her mom to create the Postmortem Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner for global certification with the International Association of Forensic Nursing. She will graduate in the Fall of 2025 and continue to work alongside her parents at Twisted Roots as well as in private practice with her mom, Eva Jessee. Their goal is to open a functional medical practice where they can see patients locally & meet their needs holistically.
Taylor works for Citi Corp in commercial accounts. When not at work, he works alongside David growing, harvesting & packaging. He is an avid poultry farmer & loves spending time perfecting his flock & ensuring we have plenty of fresh eggs & poultry in our freezers.
When not at work, these two love to travel & try out new restaurants. They are big history & science buffs, so they have plenty of fun places they have been. We could not do what we do without them.
